Saudi F&B Highlights: Rule Changes, Ramadan Trends & Culinary Leadership

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) will introduce new labelling standards from July 2025, requiring restaurants to disclose caffeine and salt content while providing calorie burn estimates, a move to promote healthier choices in line with Vision 2030.

Ramadan continues to shape dining habits, with 37 percent of consumers increasing spending on Iftar and Suhoor. Health-conscious dining and social media-driven choices are influencing menus and delivery strategies.

Meanwhile, Esat Akyildiz, the executive assistant manager – director of culinary and F&B at The Ritz-Carlton, Jeddah, is elevating the dining experience with his fusion of Anatolian and Mediterranean flavours, reinforcing Saudi’s rise as a culinary destination.
