Top importers of Brazilian chicken in the Middle East
In 2016, according to a report presented by Saalam Gateway, the first 10 importers from this group accounted for 37% of the South American country’s total chicken exports by volume.
Brazil exported 4,383,898 tons of chicken meat to the world in 2016, equivalent to $4.384 billion, according to ABPA.
BRF and JBS are market leaders, ranked first and second respectively. The top 10 importers of Brazilian poultry in the Organisation of Islamic Countries (OIC) are:

2 - UAE - 301,645 tons
3 - Kuwait 108,503 tons
4 - Egypt 97,203 tons
5 - Oman 81,936 tons
6 - Iraq 71,862 tons,
7 - Qatar 71,292 tons,
8 - Yemen 64,200 tons
9 - Jordan 37,846 tons
10 - Libya 37,147 tons.
The volume imported by Saudi Arabia stands for 46% of the OIC’s ten biggest buyers of Brazilian chicken in 2016 despite the fact
the Middle East kingdom is home for the largest poultry producer in the region, AlWatania Poultry. The company processes one million eggs and over than 500.000 chicken per day.
